In a bid to continue to improve the recycling habits of Gold Coasters, Return-It QLD in partnership with Co-Ex, has announced it has added a drive-thru service to its Burleigh Depot, as well as expanding services to cater to commercial and bulk container drop offs.
A first for Return-It, as of April 2019, the drive thru facility is accessible to Gold Coasters, adding the convenience of a quick drop off to Return-It QLD customers.
“At Return-It QLD, we have been listening to our customers, and want to make recycling as fast and as convenient as possible,” said Return-It CEO, David Singh.
“Our Burleigh Depot on the Gold Coast is a cash Depot, meaning that during operating hours, customers will be offered cash-in-hand refunds at the Depot, and when using our drive-thru facility.”
The facility allows customers to drive up to the Depot and be greeted by a staff member who will help them sort and count the eligible containers. They will then be offered a cash refund for their containers, which they can choose to keep, or donate to a Return-It QLD charity partner.
“The Burleigh Depot drive-thru facility is our first, and based on its success, we will look to expand drive-thru offerings at our Depots throughout Queensland,” said David.
“In addition to the drive-thru facility, we have also upgraded our facilities at the Burleigh Depot to allow for bulk container returns. This answers a strong demand on the Gold Coast for a Depot where people can bring in larger volumes for a cash-in-hand refund. We are proud to be able to offer this service to our customers,” said David.
Outside of business hours (8am – 4pm Monday to Friday, and 9am – 4pm Saturday and Sunday), the Burleigh Depot has a 24-hour bag drop facility, allowing customers with a scheme ID to return their eligible containers at their convenience.
A drive-through container return centre has opened in Burleigh Heads. It can handle the recycling of tens of thousands of empty cans and bottles every day. www.7NEWS.com.au #7NEWS
